How to make an Applepipe

How to make an Applepipe

You'll need an apple, a knife, a pen, and a piece of aluminum to build this particular apple pipe.

Using the knife, core out the apple making sure that you do not puncture the bottom of the apple.

Stick the shaft of the pen into the side of your apple pipe. (This will act as the mouthpiece of your pipe.) Remove any apple that became trapped inside the pen.

Take a piece of foil and poke a few small holes in the middle. Stick your foil screen into the apple pipe.

Enjoy the "fruits" of your labor and spark it up

How to Make a Gravity Bong

How to Make a Gravity Bong

1.) Here is an overview of the tools/items you will be using to make the gravity bong (coincidentally, for a written list, check "Things You'll Need").

2.) Start by unscrewing the cap from the Gatorade bottle and using your hole making tool to puncture the cap.

3.) Use a knife or a pair of scissors to widen the hole to accommodate your smoking preferences (your pinky finger is a good guide).

4.) Tear off a piece of aluminum foil in a square (or circle if you like) leaving plenty of extra foil to work with.

5.) Use your finger to mold the bowl around, being careful not to tear the foil. Also note that if the bowl is not deep enough, it will fall out of the cap easily. And, of course, the bowl can't be wider than the hole in the cap.

6.) Put the foil bowl in the hole making sure it stays put. Also, for appearance you can turn the cap (with bowl in it) upside down, and flatten out the foil by rubbing it on a flat surface (i.e. table).

7.) Set the cap/bowl on the table, and use the hole making tool to poke holes in the tin foil. You have to be very careful in this step because if the holes are too big, your tobacco/herbs will fall through the bowl. As far as how many holes, it depends on how big your bowl is, but about 25 worked for me. Too many holes and your bowl will break, too few holes, and your bowl won't let enough smoke into the bottle.

8.) Put that aside, and find your Gatorade/2 liter bottle. Using a knife or scissors, begin to cut of the bottom of the bottle making sure to leave as much room possible for the smoke to fill the bottle.

9.) Cut the top off a larger container, or simply use a bucket or filled sink.

10.) Fill the container with water.

11.) Load the bowl full of your favorite legal smoking material.

12.) Place the bottle in the water and screw the cap on. If you screw the cap on before you put the bottle in the water, your tobacco will fly out.

13.) Get your lighter ready and light your weed while slowly pulling up on the bottle.

14.) once the bottle is filled with smoke, unscrew the cap, put your mouth on the bottle, and push down forcing all the smoke into your lungs.

How to build a grow box

How to build a grow box

A closed grow box system will enable you to create and control your own growing environment such as the sun, rain, wind, air, nutrients and pest control. I have recently decided to build a grow box that measures 5'x2'x2' so it will fit in my tiny apartment. This grow box is to help with my interest and love for exotic plants. My intention of this post is to inspire people with my ideas just as other peoples posts have inspired me. This is my first instructable, long time follower. So, please bear with me and gentle.

Step 1: Basic frame

The first step I took before going out and buying materials, was to determine exactly what I needed to minimize cost by not purchasing any more than I had to. I did this by using a free program downloaded from Google called Google Sketchup. I highly recommend it, because it let me build the box in 3D and to scale using the handy tape measure tool it comes with. The program is very easy to use. It took me less than a day to get a basic understanding of it. The total for all the wood used for this box was $52 at home depot.

Lumber list.
2 - MDF sheets. 4' x8' x 1/2" $18.99 each
7 - 2" x 2" x 8' pieces $1.55 each

Optional items (well worth it if budget permits)
4 - Caster Wheels $3.79 each
16 - Bolts, Nuts, Washers (1/4") about $5

That's the entire list of needed and optional items. I already had wood screws. I used 2.5" all purpose screws for the frame and 1.25" #10 wood screws to attach the MDF to the frame. I printed up a template for the cuts needed to be made to the MDF and the dude at Home Depot cut it for me. 6 pieces total, 3 pairs of the same size pieces. Living in an apartment, this would have been difficult, however, I did cut the 2" x 2" pieces myself.
I had originally planned to make the box only 4' tall but wasn't sure if that would be enough room. However, a 4' tall box would only require one piece of MDF almost cutting the price of the box in half.

MDF pieces are:
1'11" x 4'11" (x2) front panels
2' x 5' (x2) side panels
2' x 1'11" (x2) top and bottom panels

As far as the 2"x2" cuts go here they are:
2"x2"
1'8" (19") x12
5" (60") x4

Here is the base assembled. Two of the 2x2's are flush with the edge and the other two have a half inch gap for the front and back panels to rest on. The sides will be flush with the ground. It will make sense if it doesn't now if you see the Sketchup file.

Part of the frame assembled. Depending on how much room you want to leave for the lights determines how far from the top the second cross piece is attached. I will be leaving roughly a foot of space because I want to put a piece of glass to isolate the light from the chamber. I will be giving the light its own ventilation independent of the grow chamber.

Next I attached the two frame pieces to each other.

After that, the frame is ready to be inserted and attached to the base.

Step 2: Inclosing the grow box

The side panels are now ready to be attached. However, I have chosen to put some mylar ($20 for a 25 feet roll at the hydro store) on the panels before doing so. This not only conceals the edges of the mylar, but will secure it too once attached to the frame. I did this by using 3M spray glue ($13 at Home Depot) on the panels and them unrolling the mylar onto the panel keeping it nice and neat.

Someone gave me the brilliant idea of putting wheels on the box for obvious reasons. Anyways, I should have put the wheels on earlier on in the construction but it wasn't a problem. I flipped the caster over and used it as a template for where to drill my holes from the inside. Next I inserted the bolts, washers and nuts and now its mobile! Now attach the sides with a few wood screws and you have a finish a project! I decided to wrap the mylar around the exposed frame just to be on the safe side. Here is the structure.

Step 3: Ventilation in the Light Chamber

I did a lot of looking around for fans. The fans that I found should work nicely for such a small grow box, they are computer fans. The fans specs are: Dimensions: 80 x 80 x 25mm Fan Speed: 2000 RPM Air Flow: 26.8 CFM Noise: 21 dBA Power: 12V, 0.12A I am planning on using one fan for the light and two for the grow chamber. I picked these fans up for only $4 each! Both fans together will replace the air in the grow chamber 3.35 times a minute, or once every 18 seconds. Since the minimum is once every 5 minutes, this should be more than enough. The one fan in the light will replace the air at twice the rate compared to the grow chamber, or every 9 seconds. A picture of the fans that I will be using Now that I have the structure finished it is time to install the ventilation and lighting. First, I will install the ventilation for the lighting that will be added later. I cut two holes for the fans to go into. I used a 1" hole saw drill bit in the shape of the fan and cut out the notches with a saw. There are way more efficient ways of doing this, but it worked with the tools I had available. In the end, the fans fit right into the holes. Any spaces left over will be filled in or covered up. The fan fits nicely. I wired them to a universal power adapter I bought at the Depot for $12. This stepped down the voltage from the wall preventing me from blowing any more up. (I had to try it once.) Just like the movies, a pop and a cloud of smoke. Typically 15 amps come out of the wall and the little fans only require .12 amps. Here is a picture of the power adapter that I wired the fans to, to be on the safe side, and to keep the fans from blowing up. I have added a few pictures to help show the rewiring process. I just cut the tip off and spliced it to the fans using an RCA cable. The RCA cables work nice because it has two conductors inside, just like the fan, keeping things neat. I also attached some RCA cable to the fans to give me more length so the two fans can be connected around the back. It was pretty easy to connect, just keep it consistent. I connected the red to white, and black to the shield and it worked great. Then the other.. Then I wrapped it all up in electrical tape to keep it all secure and resistant to moisture. In the end, I put the intake in the back lower corner and the exhaust in the front upper corner since heat rises, that's the best place to remove it. There will be a piece of glass separating the grow chamber and the lighting chamber. The following picture shows the grow chamber and the two locations of the ventilation. I connected the two fans together, then a wire to attach the two connected fans to the power adapter. A couple safety features to protect against me in case something gets pulled on for some reason.

Step 4: Light in the light chamber

Now it is time to put up the light fixtures. It only took two screws to install the MH fixture. Next was the HPS. I installed the fixtures so I just need to remove the bulb when I'm not using the other. A picture from the bottom of the box looking up to the lights Q When should I use a Metal Halide (MH) Plant Grow Light? A Metal Halide (MH) lamps produce a balanced light spectrum closest to natural light. Plants can be grown from start to finish using metal halide plant grow lights. MH is the best type of light to be used as a primary light source if little or no natural sunlight is available. Metal Halide's balanced spectrum contains the common blue and red wavelengths needed for rapid foliage growth. Q When should I use High Pressure (HPS) Plant Grow Lights? A High Pressure Sodium is 10-15% more energy efficient than Metal Halide light but does not have a balanced spectrum. HPS emits an orange/yellow light similar to the sun's spectrum in the mid day. HPS is best used as supplemental light and is particularly good at promoting flower growth. Next up will be the air filter and ventilation for the grow chamber.

Step 5: Air filter and ventilation for the grow chamber

First I picked up some heavy-duty chicken wire at the Depot. $5 for 2'x5'.

Next I used a little math to figure out how big to cut the chicken wire. I needed a cylinder that measured 2.5" and another one 3.5" to accommodate my setup. The formula is (PIE x diameter)=length of chicken wire.

Then I zip tied
Tested and made sure it fit which it does. Then I made the outer cylinder and tightened up the zip ties. Checked them out and it looks good. Useful Tip: use a closet rod or something similar to round out the chicken wire after you zip tie it. Wrapped them in some panty-hose to hold the activated carbon in place

I am going to use two of these fans. The intake is on the side and the exhaust is the rectangular part. I am going to attach the two opposite ends of the PVC to the intakes of the squirrel fans, sucking the air through the filter and exhausting out the box. Then I am going to use dryer hose and run the two exhausts to the attic via the ceiling. No one will notice due to the drop ceiling in my apartment.

I went to home depot and did some more shopping. I picked up some Caulk Saver to use as a spacer for the filter. It was about $5. I cut off a piece big enough to wrap all the way around the bottom to hold the center screen in place. It worked perfectly! Nice and snug too! Then I bought some activated carbon at Petsmart for $20.

I ended up only using a third of the carbon and filled most of the filter up leaving room for more spacers and the PVC joint. Then I capped it off and almost done. All I need now is to duct tape it to seal the ends and force the air through the middle to ensure it passes through the carbon.

Now I have the fans attached and will place them in the grow chamber where it will not disrupt the light from the top. I wanted to mount it along the side of the box to keep it low profile and prevent it from blocking the lights in any way

To install the air ventilation, first I cut the holes for the squirrel exhausts to fit into snuggly. The first hole is cut, and this one will be used as a reference for the next. The second hole was a little tricky. I had to hold the filter and fan together to find the right position, remove the filter and trace the exhaust, but it worked out in the end.

I decided to run the wires out the same holes to keep things neat inside. The squirrel fans will be wired like the computer fans, which were shown in steps earlier. The following picture shows the finished wiring jobs from the fans. The next step was to make all the holes in the box airtight with duct tape. Especially around the filter to prevent any unfiltered air from escaping the grow chamber. I also taped the inside just to be certain no air can escape without being filtered.

All the holes and wires air taped up and the wires are secured to the box.

Here, I didn't have to cut the end of the power supply that connects to the squirrel fans because I got it to work without having to. It saved me a little time and the hassle of using any connectors. To reduce the stress on the squirrel fans, I made this sling with zip ties to support the opposite end. A close up of the sling in action.

I just need to seal the PVC and the squirrel fans to make them air tight and its done as far as mounting them goes. I ended up mounting the squirrel fans too close together but it was an easy fix. I just sanded the PVC until it fit the way I wanted it too. I am also going to screw a piece of wood underneath the lower squirrel fan for a little extra needed support.

I even taped the base inside and door jams.

One very cool feature about this particular power supply with the selectable voltage, it acts as a variable speed control for the fans!

Step 6: Lighting in the Grow Chamber

After I got the wiring of the fans done and made them airtight, I installed some CFL's that are only going to be used for the early stages of growing. I picked up two cool socket splitters by mistake thinking they were the socket adapters for the outlets. Luckily I found a good use for them. I mounted two power strips on opposite sides of the box. I screwed extra screws to the sides of the box giving me the option of adjusting the height of the power strips later on if I need to. Here's the setup, A power strip - $3 Adapters - $2 each CFL's - $7 for two The finished product I do not have any specs on this final product, but each bulb is 100 watt The weight of the two lights looked like a bit too much for the socket adapter to handle given how it is mounted, so I used some zip ties to secure the lights and prevent them from falling out. Here is what the box looks like now. All I need is glass and intake holes for the grow chamber! I just added up all my receipts and had a grand total of $334.17 for the total money spent on the box. Here are the CFL's in action. As you can see, I used two bulbs of the higher spectrum up top and one of the lower spectrum just underneath to broaden the range of light. I could easily add more bulbs but this should be enough for the one or two plants I will be growing for the first two weeks before I kick on the HIDs.

Step 7: Puting it all together

The wiring was pretty simple for both the fans. I just connected the two wires from the RCA cable to the power supply. The particular power supply I used was two pronged and I used it solely to step down the electricity coming from the wall. The power supply has two leads as well just like the RCA cable. For the computer fans, I just cut the tip/connector from the power supply off which left me with two leads. I just attached the two leads from the fans to the power supply and that was it. The fans didn't spin when the wires were attached wrong so I tried the other way and it worked. Just make sure the fan is spinning the right direction before you seal up the connections with tape. With the squirrel fans, I managed to get them working without having to cut the tip off like I did with the computer fans. Since you're dealing with such low levels of electricity, there is plenty of room for trial and error. Just don't plug a fan directly into the wall. I used the caulk saver specifically as a flexible spacer. I am not using it as a liquid repellant and I just used duct tape to seal the ends. That was the easiest way to make the ends airtight, forcing the air to get sucked through the carbon. I actually have two power supplies powering two fans each. The computer fans use hardly any power at all. I have been considering using one power supply per squirrel fan but currently I have the two hooked up to one and that works too. I was considering using independent power supplies for the squirrel fans because they use up 10 more power (1.2 amps compared to .12 amps of the 'puter fans) than the computer fans and they don't seem to be running at full capacity. I made the platform about 6" short of reaching the back. Then I lined the area underneath with black plastic sheeting to help absorb light. On the right side of the box, I put strips of duct tape on the areas where I was going to staple the sheeting to the box to help reinforce it and prevent the plastic from tearing. It seems to work pretty well. I did the same on the left side but with screws so I can remove and replace the plastic when I want to take a look. I found a spare hook and did the same thing with the bottom center of the plastic sheeting that I did when I stapled the sheeting to the box. This allows me to remove the sheeting when I want and keeps the hole intact from opening it up everyday. With this ventilation modification, I keep the fan on low in front of the box and it blows air in the bottom, and up through the back inside. It works really well because when its all sealed up, the plastic poofs up a telling me that air is definitely being pushed inside. With the bottom lined with the black side of the plastic sheeting, it seems to prevent light from getting in while allowing air to get in. This hardware store down the street from me at the time cut custom pieces of glass. Just told them what size and they had it a couple days later. I believe both pieces were 1/8" thick and non-tempered (cheaper) and it did the job. The size I got cost me just under $20 a piece. With this basic construction of this box, making any adjustments or adding any items would very easy to install.

Cops Accused Of Eating Man's weed Brownies and Bragging About It

Cops Accused Of Eating Man's weed Brownies and Bragging About It

Two Houston police officers could be asking "dude, where's my credibility?" after a suspect accused them of eating his pot brownies.

Nicholas Hill, 19, claims that Houston cops took his brownies, that they knew were laced with marijuana, and munched away after arresting the teen for pot possession.

ABC 13 found something more substantial than just Hill's claim. The station reports that it has obtained messages typed by the officers on their in-car computers after confiscating and consuming the baked goods.

"So HIGH... Good munchies," one officer supposedly wrote. "Everything should be open when we get done," the other responded.

One of Hill's defense attorneys, Daniel Cahill, told The Huffington Post that, if his client's accusations prove to be true, they could have very serious consequences.

"If what is alleged is true then it really calls into question everything that went on that day," Cahill said. "If we have police destroying evidence or maybe not following the rules that they need to be following, that brings into question the integrity of the system and everything these guys have done, possibly."

Houston Police Department spokesperson John Cannon told HuffPost that the department would not speculate on what penalties the officers would face if the accusations are found to be accurate.

"HPD is looking into the matter and will conduct a thorough investigation," Cannon said.

The officers remain on active duty while the investigation takes place, according to Cannon.

Cahill said that, until the investigation is finished, it's unclear what will happen with his client's case.

"We're waiting on the investigation before we can really move," he said. "We're stuck in a holding pattern."

How to Supercrop

How to Supercrop

Lets talk a little about super cropping.. what it is and what it does... super cropping itself is a controlled method of bending the stems to cause lower growth to grow upwards... by bending the stems in a controlled way the plant will begin to push lower growth out and up.. this means lower branches that would normally not yield much will be at the canopy top ready to yield nicely..

Here is a mental picture to invision to further explain.. imagine how a christmas tree grows.. one main stalk with many side branches growing outwards... for the most part this is how our plants grow as well... but super cropping you cause all those lower branches to start growing out and up, towards the light, instead of just out.. giving you more potential bud sites...

Super cropping also helps to strengthen stems and branches all over the plant...

The greatest thing about super cropping is that it can be dont multiple times during vegetative growth and causes little if any growth disruption... i would stop super cropping a few days before switching to flowering though.. to allow the plant to recover fully for flower...

For now i have to give verbal directions.. but i will post a video as soon as we get things fixed so they work...

1) pick the spot to super crop.. ideally you want 3 to 5 node sets before starting.. start in between the top two nodes... to begin with... as the super cropping works and more and more branches appear at the top of the plant you can do more and more branches...

2) between your thumb and pointer finger you want to gently crush the stem... yes that is an oxymoron of sorts... the main thing is you dont want to sever the plant when doing this.. so care should be taken... you will feel the stem give way when done....

3) once you have the stem softened with your fingers where they are turn your hand 90 degrees (1/4 turn) and do the same thing at the same spot... the idea is to soften the stem completely around it....

4) once the stem is soft bend it over so it lays flat... if when you go to bend it the stem is still stiff just simply work the stem between your fingers to soften it more... it should bend easily when done.. if there are small vertical tears in the stem it will be ok... nothing on the plant will die.. just do the best you can to not break the top part of the super crop off the plant.. i have done this myself.... unintentionally topping a plant is not cool... lol

5) now let the plant go.. over the next few days the top will begin to upright itself.. over time you will notice the lower growth growing upwards more and more... the more you super crop during vegetative growth more the results will be!!

The more tops you have the more tops you can do.. here is a picture of the same plant after i was done with her...

its important to remember that super cropping will cause your plants to be quite bushy... in smaller places this can be a problem.. just take that into consideration as you are super cropping...

Now i have yet to over super crop a plant.. i have counted up to 35 tops on one plant before i stopped counting... so dont be afraid your plant will suffer.. yes, it does cause some stress.. but relatively little.. as long as the stems arent breaking or tops are getting torn off the plant will be just fine...

How to make Cannabutter

How to make Cannabutter

Hey folks,

I always seem to come across people asking how to make cannabutter/baked goods. Well, I hope that this post will provide you with some insight as to how to make some dank shit!

Step 1:
You first need to procure your supplies. For this venture, you will need a large pot, a grinder of some sort, marijuana (stems, shake, trim, buds), and butter. When it comes to selecting the butter, I look to see what butter the store carries with the highest % of fat content. This is because THC is lipidic, meaning that it binds readily with fatty substances. Therefore, the more fat, the more THC the butter can hold.

Step 2:
The next step is to grind up your marijuana material using the grinder. I will be using a coffee grinder as to get everything super fine! The more you agitate it, the better. For one batch of cookies that calls for a stick of butter, I put around 20-30g of fluffy buds/trim in. This time I did not use stems, but anything sporting trichomes is fair game to use. After grinding it all up, dump it into the pot and add some water.

Step 3:
Once you have added an ample amount of bud to the pot, add your butter. The recipe I am using calls for 1 stick, so I will be using 1 1/4 stick to account for any materials lost. Go ahead and throw the butter in. Bring the pot to a boil*, then reduce to a simmer and cover. Now, it is a game of waiting. I generally let my batches simmer for around 6 hours, but am going to cut it short to 4 today.

Step 4:
After the stew has simmered for an ample amount of time, it may be removed and prepared for separation. The simplest and cleanest method I have found is to simply set a wire strainer inside a glass bowl, then scoop the mixture into the strainer. Make sure to squeeze excess moisture/butter from the plant matter as it will generally retain a lot. Do this until all the matter has been separated from the liquid.

Step 5:
You should be able to see a layer of liquid butter floating along the top of the bowl. It must now be solidified in order to extract it from the water. To do so, simply set the bowl in the refrigerator until the top layer becomes hard.

Step 6:
After awhile, the top layer will solidify hard enough to pick up with a cooking utensil. At this point, scoop it all out and place in a separate container. This is your cannabutter.

Step 7: (Optional)
You can use your cannabutter on whatever you wish, however, I use mine with a pre-packaged chocolate chip cookie mix that calls for 1 stick of butter. Convenient. Go ahead and mix everything according to the directions, but instead of individual cookies, mix into a large cake pan. Then, bake at about 50 degrees lower than the instructions call for*. Enjoy!

* During the boiling process, the THC becomes decarboxylated. This is a very rapid and natural process that takes place when temperatures reach over 100C. What happens is the carboxyl group (COOH) on the end of the THCA hydrocarbon chain is destroyed, leaving a hydrogen atom in place. This process converts THCA to THC, processing it into a use able psychoactive form.

How to FIM

How to FIM

After seeing and hearing many questions about the FIM method I decided to do a tutorial on this method to show exactly how it is done and the results that can be achieved.

FIM stands for ''Fuck I Missed'' and im not sure how it got that name because its very simple to do. I use this method all the time to help create a wide canopy with many branches and colas. Some people FIM each plant more than once to create even more colas and branches and it works very well for them and has very minimal stress on the plant.

I usually FIM plants when they are between 1-2ft tall and it should be done at least 2 weeks before turning to 12/12 to maximise the growth potential of the new shoots and maximise the benefits of using this method.

#1 Locate the very top of the new growth.

#2 With a clean, sterilized scissors, Fold the fan leafs over and cut approximately 80% of the new growth off the plant.

#3 This is what it should look like after the cut has been made.

#4 View of the Cut section after 2 days growth, showing the 4 new growth shoots (branches)

I sometimes dont even use scissors and I just pinch out some of the new growth with my fingers. Heres a few pics of another plant that I pinched with my fingers. This plant has been neglected throughout its short life so far and it has been sitting under a shitty fluro light so it would be doing much better under some decent lighting and better conditions but it gives you an idea of the early progress.

You can see the dot where the FIM was done.

How to do LST

How to do LST

Well here we go, LST (Low Stress Training) the ultimate way to maximize your yield.

Before we begin lets get some knowledge on what you will be looking at.

Light Brown : Pot Outline
Green thick Lines : Main Stem
Small Thin Lines with Green Balls on top : Fan leafs
Yellow Lines : Side Branches
Red : Tiedown Metal Hooks (or thread whichever item you use, i use Hooks its easier)

The Text in the box : First digit is Step No. and Second Digit is Pot Size, below the numbers is the type of view your looking at (either from the SIDE or from the TOP)

Now that thats out of the way lets get it on..

Please note, you dont have to do it this way, its just the idea of how to do LST, this is the way i did it and you can see the end result of 4 weeks of growth this way down below. Some may opt to use the eggcrate method where you utilize an eggcrate around the pot and tie it down to that with zipties instead of using string or hooks running from the pot itself... this way you can cover more square footage and maximize your yield even more.

Ok heres the STEPS PICTURE for you to follow along with.

STEP 1 :
Grow your plant from Seed or Clone to 3 or 4 leaf sets, some use 5 but i always use 3 because after 3rd leaf set the main stem starts to harden and it will be harder to bend over your plant properly without breaking the main stem.

STEP 2 :
Using a metal hook (i cut small sections of cloths hanger and bend a U shape at the end as a hook) bend over your plant with metal hook at the last internode (space between the last set of fanleafs and the next to last) and stick the metal hook into your dirt to hold down the stem.

STEP 3 :
This is really not a step, just waiting time... Take note of how the top of the plant that was bent down will bend back upwards towards the light, this could take anywhere from 3 hours to 1 day. Under my 1000 Watt Metal Halide light it does it in under 3 hours.

STEP 4 :
Veg and dont tie down until you have a new leaf set. You will notice Side branching has started already because good light is getting to the main stem areas next to each fanleaf stem intersection with the main stem.

STEP 5 :
Depending on your starting pot size you may have to transplant. If you started out with a large pot, repeat step 2 over and over again holding the main stem down with hooks until you reach the end of the pot. In this illustration to save time and drawings, i started out with a small pot and it reached the end of the pot after the first tiedown. I repotted it into a 10 inch pot which will be my final pot size for this plant in order for me to continue the LST Bends around the inside edge of the pot.

STEP 6 :
Now that your new leaf set has formed you have enough length in growth since the first bend(s) to allow you to start bending the stem horizontally around the inside edge of the pot. Use metal hooks again to keep this bend in place. Side branches should be coming along very nicely.

STEP 7 :
Continue repeating steps 4 and 6, allowing the plant to grow and then keep tieing it down along the inside edge of pot using metal hooks (or whatever your using) Side branches should be forming and growing up towards the light.

STEP 8 :
Continue to repeat step 7 until you are all the way around the pot... when you reach the point where your plant first met the edge of the plant Top the plant (cut off the very top of the plant ) and hold it down horizontally with a metal hook.... During all this time of repeating step 7 you should also be tieing down horizontally the new branches that have formed from the main stem as much as possible until you use up as much space as possible inside the pot as well , the outter branches growing over the outside edge of the pot you can hold down as well with string to keep those tops even with the inner branches.

STEP 9 :
After you have used up all possible space inside the pot (or your eggcrate) its time to just let it flower.. This is a side view of how it will and should look by that time with all the side branches growing upwards towards the light.... these will all become Collas unlike a non LST plant will only have one colla.

During flowering and even before due to lack of light on the main stem fan leafs which is all the way to the bottom almost against the soil those fanleafs will die off anyways, i usually cut these off the main stem right after the branch has grown out in that area, keeps things neat down below where you will need good airflow during flowering.. so go ahead and take off any fanleafs coming off the main stem that is going around the inside edge of the pot.

if you did everything correct your plant should look somehting like this:

Set your timer to 12/12 and watch it bloom

There is no Step 10 in the picture but we all know what that is: HARVEST!!!

The real reason cannabis is illegal

The real reason cannabis is illegal

Heres a pretty good summary of the real reasons cannabis is outlawed in america.

The real reason Cannabis has been outlawed has nothing to do with its effects on the mind and body.
MARIJUANA is DANGEROUS. Pot is NOT harmful to the human body or mind. Marijuana does NOT pose a threat to the general public. Marijuana is very much a danger to the oil companies, alcohol, tobacco industries and a large number of chemical corporations. Various big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed the truth from the people.

The truth is if marijuana was utilized for its vast array of commercial products, it would create an industrial atomic bomb! Entrepreneurs have not been educated on the product potential of pot. The super rich have conspired to spread misinformation about an extremely versatile plant that, if used properly, would ruin their companies.

Where did the word ‘marijuana’ come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant…as you will read. The facts cited here, with references, are generally verifiable in the Encyclopedia Britannica which was printed on hemp paper for 150 years:

* All schoolbooks were made from hemp or flax paper until the 1880s; Hemp Paper Reconsidered, Jack Frazier, 1974.

* It was LEGAL TO PAY TAXES WITH HEMP in America from 1631 until the early 1800s; LA Times, Aug. 12, 1981.

* REFUSING TO GROW HEMP in America during the 17th and 18th Centuries WAS AGAINST THE LAW! You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to 1769; Hemp in Colonial Virginia, G. M. Herdon.

*George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and other founding fathers GREW HEMP; Washington and Jefferson Diaries. Jefferson smuggled hemp seeds from China to France then to America.

* Benjamin Franklin owned one of the first paper mills in America and it processed hemp. Also, the War of 1812 was fought over hemp. Napoleon wanted to cut off Moscow’s export to England; Emperor Wears No Clothes, Jack Herer.

* For thousands of years, 90f all ships’ sails and rope were made from hemp. The word ‘canvas’ is Dutch for cannabis; Webster’s New World Dictionary.

* 80f all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc. were made from hemp until the 1820s with the introduction of the cotton gin.

* The first Bibles, maps, charts, Betsy Ross’s flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp; U.S. Government Archives.

* The first crop grown in many states was hemp. 1850 was a peak year for Kentucky producing 40,000 tons. Hemp was the largest cash crop until the 20th Century; State Archives.

* Oldest known records of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization probably goes back to ancient Egypt.

* Rembrants, Gainsboroughs, Van Goghs as well as most early canvas paintings were principally painted on hemp linen.

* In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement such programs; Department of Agriculture

* Quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935; Sherman Williams Paint Co. testimony before Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act.

* Henry Ford’s first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONTRUCTED FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, ‘grown from the soil,’ had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941.

* Hemp called ‘Billion Dollar Crop.’ It was the first time a cash crop had a business potential to exceed a billion dollars; Popular Mechanics, Feb., 1938.

* Mechanical Engineering Magazine (Feb. 1938) published an article entitled ‘The Most Profitable and Desirable Crop that Can be Grown.’ It stated that if hemp was cultivated using 20th Century technology, it would be the single largest agricultural crop in the U.S. and the rest of the world.
The following information comes directly from the United States Department of Agriculture’s 1942 14-minute film encouraging and instructing ‘patriotic American farmers’ to grow 350,000 acres of hemp each year for the war effort:

‘…(When) Grecian temples were new, hemp was already old in the service of mankind. For thousands of years, even then, this plant had been grown for cordage and cloth in China and elsewhere in the East. For centuries prior to about 1850, all the ships that sailed the western seas were rigged with hempen rope and sails. For the sailor, no less than the hangman, hemp was indispensable…

…Now with Philippine and East Indian sources of hemp in the hands of the Japanese…American hemp must meet the needs of our Army and Navy as well as of our industries…
…the Navy’s rapidly dwindling reserves. When that is gone, American hemp will go on duty again; hemp for mooring ships; hemp for tow lines; hemp for tackle and gear; hemp for countless naval uses both on ship and shore. Just as in the days when Old Ironsides sailed the seas victorious with her hempen shrouds and hempen sails. Hemp for victory!’

Certified proof from the Library of Congress; found by the research of Jack Herer, refuting claims of other government agencies that the 1942 USDA film ‘Hemp for Victory’ did not exist.

Hemp cultivation and production do not harm the environment. The USDA Bulletin ..404 concluded that hemp produces 4 times as much pulp with at least 4 to 7 times less pollution. From Popular Mechanics, Feb. 1938:

‘It has a short growing season…It can be grown in any state…The long roots penetrate and break the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year’s crop. The dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds.

…hemp, this new crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.’
In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought America out of the Great Depression.

William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most paper products. Patty Hearst’s grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp.

In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont’s Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80f Dupont’s business.

THE CONSPIRACY
Andrew Mellon became Hoover’s Secretary of the Treasury and Dupont’s primary investor. He appointed his future nephew-in-law, Harry J. Anslinger, to head the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Secret meetings were held by these financial tycoons. Hemp was declared dangerous and a threat to their billion dollar enterprises. For their dynasties to remain intact, hemp had to go. These men took an obscure Mexican slang word: ‘marihuana’ and pushed it into the consciousness of America.

MEDIA MANIPULATION
A media blitz of ‘yellow journalism’ raged in the late 1920s and 1930s. Hearst’s newspapers ran stories emphasizing the horrors of marihuana. The menace of marihuana made headlines. Readers learned that it was responsible for everything from car accidents to loose morality.
Films like ‘Reefer Madness’ (1936), ‘Marihuana: Assassin of Youth’ (1935) and ‘Marihuana: The Devil’s Weed’ (1936) were propaganda designed by these industrialists to create an enemy. Their purpose was to gain public support so that anti-marihuana laws could be passed.
Examine the following quotes from ‘The Burning Question’ aka REEFER MADNESS:
a violent narcotic.
acts of shocking violence.
incurable insanity.
soul-destroying effects.
under the influence of the drug he killed his entire family with an ax.
more vicious, more deadly even than these soul-destroying drugs (heroin, cocaine) is the menace of marihuana!
Reefer Madness did not end with the usual ‘the end.’ The film concluded with these words plastered on the screen: TELL YOUR CHILDREN.
In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of the baby-boomers.

On April 14, 1937, the Prohibitive Marihuana Tax Law or the bill that outlawed hemp was directly brought to the House Ways and Means Committee. This committee is the only one that can introduce a bill to the House floor without it being debated by other committees. The Chairman of the Ways and Means, Robert Doughton, was a Dupont supporter. He insured that the bill would pass Congress.
Dr. James Woodward, a physician and attorney, testified too late on behalf of the American Medical Association. He told the committee that the reason the AMA had not denounced the Marihuana Tax Law sooner was that the Association had just discovered that marihuana was hemp.

Few people, at the time, realized that the deadly menace they had been reading about on Hearst’s front pages was in fact passive hemp. The AMA understood cannabis to be a MEDICINE found in numerous healing products sold over the last hundred years.

In September of 1937, hemp became illegal. The most useful crop known became a drug and our planet has been suffering ever since.

Congress banned hemp because it was said to be the most violence-causing drug known. Anslinger, head of the Drug Commission for 31 years, promoted the idea that marihuana made users act extremely violent. In the 1950s, under the Communist threat of McCarthyism, Anslinger now said the exact opposite. Marijuana will pacify you so much that soldiers would not want to fight.

Today, our planet is in desperate trouble. Earth is suffocating as large tracts of rain forests disappear. Pollution, poisons and chemicals are killing people. These great problems could be reversed if we industrialized hemp. Natural biomass could provide all of the planet’s energy needs that are currently supplied by fossil fuels. We have consumed 80f our oil and gas reserves. We need a renewable resource. Hemp could be the solution to soaring gas prices.

THE WONDER PLANT
Hemp has a higher quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where trees take a lifetime.

ALL PLASTIC PRODUCTS SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP SEED OIL. Hempen plastics are biodegradable! Over time, they would break down and not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics, the ones we are very familiar with, help ruin nature; they do not break down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast array of natural (hempen) plastics will not ruin the rivers as Dupont and other petrochemical companies have done. Ecology does not fit in with the plans of the Oil Industry and the political machine. Hemp products are safe and natural.

MEDICINES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. We should go back to the days when the AMA supported cannabis cures. ‘Medical Marijuana’ is given out legally to only a handful of people while the rest of us are forced into a system that relies on chemicals. Pot is only healthy for the human body.

WORLD HUNGER COULD END. A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. ALSO: They have two essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol. These essential fatty acids are not found anywhere else in nature! Consuming pot seeds is the best thing you could do for your body. Eat uncooked hemp seeds.

CLOTHES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. Hemp clothing is extremely strong and durable over time. You could hand clothing, made from pot, down to your grandchildren. Today, there are American companies that make hemp clothing; usually 50emp. Hemp fabrics should be everywhere. Instead, they are almost underground. Superior hemp products are not allowed to advertise on fascist television. Kentucky, once the top hemp producing state, made it ILLEGAL TO WEAR hemp clothing! Can you imagine being thrown into jail for wearing quality jeans?

The world is crazy…but that does not mean you have to join the insanity. Get together. Spread the news. Tell people, and that includes your children, the truth. Use hemp products. Eliminate the word ‘marijuana.’ Realize the history that created it. Make it politically incorrect to say or print the M-word. Fight against the propaganda (designed to favor the agenda of the super rich) and the bullshit. Hemp must be utilized in the future. We need a clean energy source to save our planet.

INDUSTRIALIZE HEMP!
The liquor, tobacco and oil companies fund more than a million dollars a day to Partnership for a Drug-Free America and other similar agencies. We have all seen their commercials. Now, their motto is: It’s more dangerous than we thought. Lies from the powerful corporations, that began with Hearst, are still alive and well today.

The brainwashing continues. Now, the commercials say: If you buy a joint, you contribute to murders and gang wars. The latest anti-pot commercials say: If you buy a joint…you are promoting TERRORISM! The new enemy (terrorism) has paved the road to brainwash you any way THEY see fit.

There is only one enemy; the friendly people you pay your taxes to; the war-makers and nature destroyers. With your funding, they are killing the world right in front of your eyes. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY TOBACCO. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY ALCOHOL. NO ONE HAS EVER, EVER DIED FROM SMOKING POT!! In the entire history of the human race, not one death can be attributed to cannabis. Our society has outlawed grass but condones the use of the KILLERS: TOBACCO and ALCOHOL. Hemp should be declassified and placed in DRUG stores to relieve stress. Hardening and constriction of the arteries are bad; but hemp usage actually enlarges the arteries…which is a healthy condition. We have been so conditioned to think that: Smoking is harmful. That is NOT the case for passive pot.

Ingesting THC, hemp’s active agent, has a positive effect; relieving asthma and glaucoma. A joint tends to alleviate the nausea caused by chemotherapy. You are able to eat on hemp. This is a healthy state of being.

The stereotype for a pothead is similar to a drunk, bubble-brain. Yet, the truth is ones creative abilities can be enhanced under its influence. The perception of time slightly slows and one can become more sensitive. You can more appreciate all arts; be closer to nature and generally FEEL more under the influence of cannabis. It is, in fact, the exact opposite state of mind and body as the drunken state. You can be more aware with pot.

One could conclude that it was brought here for the benefit of humanity. Hemp is the ONLY plant where the males appear one way and the females appear very different, physically! No one ever speaks of males and females in regard to the plant kingdom because plants do not show their sexes; except for cannabis. To determine what sex a certain, normal, Earthly plant is: You have to look internally, at its DNA. A male blade of grass (physically) looks exactly like a female blade of grass. The hemp plant has an intense sexuallity. Growers know to kill the males before they fertilize the females. Yes, folks…the most potent pot comes from ‘horny females.’

The reason this amazing, very sophisticated, plant from the future is illegal has nothing to do with how it physically affects us..

POT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE BILLIONAIRES WANT IT THAT WAY!!!

Marijuana Smokers Are Thinner, Less Likely to be Obese Than Non-Smokers

A study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology found that people who smoke marijuana are less likely to be obese than non-smokers.

Stoners may spend a lot of time on the couch and craving White Castle, but they apparently don't let their bodies go to pot.

People who smoke marijuana regularly are less likely to be obese than non-pot smokers, according to a new study by French researches.

"We found that cannabis users are less likely to be obese than non-users," Dr. Yann Le Strat, French psychiatrist and co-author of a new study in the American Journal of Epidemiology told MSNBC. "We were so surprised, we thought we had [made] a mistake.”

Using data from two epidemiologic studies of U.S. adults, researchers found that between 22% to 25% of participants who didn’t smoke pot were obese.

But only between 14% and 17% of those people who admitted to taking a toke at least three times a week were overweight.

Le Strat said other factors, such as the stoners' level of physical activity or diets, could have contributed to the results, but his team tried to rule out those factors.

The researches were also quick to point out that sucking on a bong isn't the key to a tight tummy.

"The take-home message is certainly not 'smoke cannabis, it will help you lose weight,'" Le Strat said. "The possibility that cannabis is associated with a lower risk of obesity remains an interesting hypothesis, but certainly does not counterbalance its negative effects on health and mental health."
